NEW ISRAELI AMNESTY PROGRAM
תרגום לעברית מופיע לאחר הטקסט באנגלית
Important information for anyone who has income-generating assets abroad and has not been reporting them to the Israeli Tax Authority:
Take the last opportunity to do so and receive immunity from criminal proceedings in the framework of a voluntary disclosure process.
In accordance with Israeli tax laws, Israeli residents must report all their income in Israel and abroad, even if the money remains in the bank accounts outside of Israel.
In 2014, the Israeli Tax Authority published the "Voluntary Disclosure Procedure" which allows taxpayers who have not reported their income and assets to the Israeli Tax Authority to enter a voluntary disclosure process. In doing so, the Tax Authority undertakes to refrain from taking criminal actions in respect of the offenses committed, provided that on the date of disclosure, the Tax Authority did not already have information pointing to the disclosed assets and that there is no current investigation/examination being conducted in the matter.
As part of the FATCA and CRS agreements, which include the exchange of international information between Israel and many countries, tax authorities are provided with information about overseas assets and accounts, including financial accounts in tax havens such as Switzerland, the Cayman Islands and the Virgin Islands.
If you have income and assets that have not yet been reported, it is worth disclosing them before the Tax Authority receives information from the authorities abroad.
A few days ago the director of the Tax Authority announced that he intends to end the voluntary disclosure procedure at the end of the 2019. This means that this may be the last opportunity to report the income from these assets abroad while obtaining immunity against criminal actions.
Our firm specializes in filing reports as part of the voluntary disclosure process at a high level, ensuring that our customers' interests are fully safeguarded within the framework of the assets disclosure and throughout the process of until the closing of the agreement with the tax authorities.
